Hidden Heroes by Netguru

A multimedia-rich content hub was developed to honour the overlooked pioneers of modern technology and design. Hidden Heroes is a tribute to those whose ideas and inventions shaped the digital world we live in — yet whose names often remain unknown.

The platform was designed to bring these stories to light through immersive editorial layouts, bold visual direction, and interactive storytelling. Commissioned essays by renowned author Steven Johnson formed the heart of the experience, with new features released monthly over an eight-month editorial cycle.

Project Scope

The scope included branding, visual identity, UX/UI design, and custom development using Webflow. The website features reusable content modules and scalable design components to support the seamless publication of future stories. Accessibility, responsiveness, and editorial clarity were central to the user experience.

The visual identity drew inspiration from retro software aesthetics and 1990s PC culture — incorporating pixel fonts, ASCII-inspired elements, and mint-violet colour accents — all reimagined through a contemporary lens. The result is a design language that balances emotional nostalgia with editorial credibility.
